About Michelle

After having kids, Michelle finally had an excuse for sitting on the floor and thumbing through picture books in the library's children's section. Despite the tingly numbness her legs endured, it was there that a light bulb went off. After alerting the librarians of the broken light fixture, she realized very few children's books use photographs to tell the story. Not having any clue about what it would take to make a book, she naively set off to buy a camera and some buttons. Luckily, she figured things out and now has several award-winning titles to be proud of. Michelle lives just a hop, skip, and swim from Seattle in a magical town called Kirkland, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.​
